Play for Smite Cup Monthly Final #1
Niklas “Meradana” Bergdahl

The first monthly final of myRevenge’s international Smite cup featured the 8 most prevalent teams of the first four tournaments, with a best of three every round and a loser’s bracket the tournament continued long into the night. Juice gaming has been a very strong team previously although they haven’t won any of the tournaments, in their first game they eliminated Outlaw eSports whom they later faced again in the Final matches of the tournament.

The second game was dominated through and through by Juice who won with a final score of 20-2, switching up from an initial score of 2-2 after 8 minutes. They won skirmish after skirmish because they had better communication which let them coordinate their teamfights and almost always have a numbers advantage.

In Juice’s second game they face ProCore Gaming, there were some realtively even trades on both sides of the map early on but on the right lane Anhur and Ymir managed to pick up a couple of good kills not even ten minutes into the match and Hel got some good farm going, he proceeded build more passively than normally and build mostly like a support to keep his team alive. After 15 minutes the first Gold Fury was killed by Juice Gaming and this resulted in quite a comfortable lead gold-wise. Five minutes later a large opportunity presented itself for ProCore to make a large turn-around in the game but the towerdive they engaged in only resulted in a 2-1 in favor of Juice. After a long game Juice Gaming managed to turn a 14-21 situation around and win the game, even though they had lost their gold lead to ProCore.

In the second game between Juice Gaming and ProCore Gaming ProCore invaded Juice’s blue and stole it, however they also lost the first blood to Artemis without picking anyone up themselves. Juice Gaming managed to pull away in the kill counter as they scored 3 kills in quick succession in the left and middle lane getting Artemis 2 more kills with Bacchus towerdiving to finish of Agni. Shortly afterwards however Juice lost Artemis and with her all her Heartseeker stacks. Important to note is that even though after 17 minutes the score is 8-3 in favor of Juice, however the gold count is pretty much even despite this, meaning that ProCore is not as far behind as it may seem. Only 2 minutes later Juice scored a deicide losing only Ra to ProCore putting the score to 15-4, this, combined with Juice’s kill on the Gold Fury finally provides them with a lot of gold. Juice then really capitalized on their advantaged and pushed mid-lane killing 2 people and destroying the tower. The final score ended up being 24-6 as ProCore surrendered the match, meaning that Juice Gaming advanced to the next round.

In Juice Gaming’s third round they faced SK Gaming, whom had previously beaten Reason Gaming and Bozenka Warriors. Around the 13 minute mark SK Gaming tried to take the Gold Fury but they got it stolen by Juice and they also lost a player, this was the game’s fourth kill. Juice also managed to get a second Gold Fury 5 minutes later and both teams scored a kill each in the process, however Juice’s Anhur was left to push on his own on the right lane and he took down the second turret. After 21 minutes had passed in the game Juice went for the Fire Giant and SK tried to stop them, Juice was ready for this however and counter-initiated and killed three people on SK before killing the Fire Giant without losing a single player. After Juice had regrouped they really pressed their advantage as they towerdove SK and killed 4 people without losing anyone. After this SK just didn’t stand any chance of coming back as they were so far behind in gold.

In the second game of the round against SK Juice scored four kills after six minutes, to SK’s one, the gold from these kills was also very spaced out in the team and Thor managed to get his Heartseeker going early and he maintained the stats throughout the game which allowed him to snowball a lot. Juice then played really aggressively and picked up three more kills giving them a really strong head start in the game, after this there was just no way for SK to come back. SK then surrendered before even twelve minutes had passed.

Going into the last round of games, the Grand Finals, Juice got to face Outlaw eSports again, and since Juice came from the winner’s bracket they had a one point advantage even before any game was played, meaning that Juice would only have to win one game to take home the entire tournament. This match was very different from Juice’s others in that they got a bad start, previously they had always come out ahead or even with the other team after the very early game, now however the stats were 1-3 and a 2k gold difference in favor of Outlaw after only six minutes. After about 19 minutes a long teamfight was engaged that ended up with Juice scoring four kills and then a Gold Fury. After 22 minutes had passed Juice picked up two kills in skirmished and they then went for the Fire Giant, Outlaw couldn’t put up much of a fight to stop them and meanwhile Wukong was pushing the Phoenix on the left lane. The end result of that teambattle was that Outlaw lost four people, a Fire Giant and a Phoenix. Juice managed a great turnaround after they had lost the early game. The final teamfight occurred as Juice picked up the Fire Giant and killed four members of Outlaw, after this they had pretty much an open road to the Minotaur.
